When the Falcon came and sat on the dining chair, he started putting food on the plate, and brought me water to wash my hands.
"I'm serving the food..."
I washed my hands with the basin of water, I had no intention of eating, but I sat there, looking at him while he served himself and then he served me.
I had no intention of going down to the kitchen to bring the things for washing. My body was still refusing to do so.
Let it be like this.
I'm still sitting while he's done eating and gone upstairs. He didn’t come down until after Isha prayer. He was walking around the house turning off the lights.
When he reached the sitting room, he collected the things and went to wash them. After washing, he came into the room and went straight to sleep. He didn’t even say goodnight to me.
That day I was too tired to even go to the kitchen to make food for dinner. I wasn’t hungry either. After he left, I got up and went to the kitchen.
After washing the dishes, I went to my room and lay down, but the guilt I felt was overwhelming.
Between 4 and 5 in the morning, I woke up and performed ablution.
Today I woke up early, went to the kitchen, and prepared breakfast for him. While he was finishing up, before the time for prayer.
I placed his food on the dining table inside his room, looked at him once, he stood up and headed toward the door.
"You’re not lying."
"I won’t lie, I swear Nana, you’re tired of being patient with me, you’re tired of hearing me talk."
He said it while staring with his beautiful eyes. My body refused to start crying.
"By Allah, that’s not how it is."
"How then? Even lying, you lied to me yesterday. You did wrong, after you were the one who brought the man who came to embarrass us to my house. Nana, I can’t take what you did to me.
I’ll never accept what you did to me. You planned it. Nana, I swear to God, I know you didn’t do it because you hate me.
Your parents didn’t raise you like that. But Nana, what did I do to deserve this? What exactly?"
I kept quiet. Immediately my body felt a different kind of feeling, a new kind of affection from my husband surrounded me, and I began to speak, my eyes full of tears.

"Forgive me for the sake of Allah, I swear I won’t do it again, except to tell people not to do this."
"Only now have I realized what it feels like to be a liar for once. It’s all because I wanted to please him."
"So now you’re washing all the phones?"
"I’m washing them because I can see there’s no number on your phone except yours and the children’s at home.
And I only answer when they call me."
