She started getting up. Kausar got up, sitting and rubbing her eyes, before saying,  

"Umma, good morning, should we greet?"  

Umma smiled before saying, "My daughter, did you sleep well?"  

Kausar closed her eyes and laughed, in a soft voice.  

Umma said, "Get up, let’s have breakfast. You and Abba slept late."  

Kausar got up quickly from the soft carpet she was lying on in front of the TV, and she stood up.  

She said, "Umma, I’m going to the toilet."  

Umma said, "Eating is a must, Kausar. Did you forget you have chest pain?"  

Kausar made a face and stuck out her lips. They went to the dining table.  

Umma had prepared chicken and tea with bread that she had bought.  

Kausar started serving herself. Umma was watching her until she finished serving on the plate,  

put down the spoon and started eating. She was also making tea for Umma.  

After she finished, she looked at Umma before saying,  

"Umma, I’m going to Aunty Suwaiba’s house. Please, Umma, don’t refuse."  

Umma shook her head before saying,  

"Kausar, your father is away, and to be honest, your brother Al-amin is at home.  

Be patient until your father comes back, then ask him.  

For now, if you go out, he won’t know you, and if he comes back and there’s no one to tell him, what will we say?"  

Kausar pouted in a voice like someone about to cry and said,  

"Umma, I swear I won’t be long, just 30mins."  

Umma said, "Don’t do that, because if he comes and asks for you..."  

Kausar answered and said, "Now, Umma, by Allah, we will be back together."  

Kausar was talking to her while going into the bedroom. She picked up her long hijab that reached the floor,  

like a gown/Jalbab. She also took her phone, applied lipstick, and left the parlor holding her tasbih.  

Umma prayed for her, "May Allah protect you on the way," and said, "Amin, go."

While on her way, she was walking fast like someone chasing something.  

"Finish your nonsense and come home. We just want a little peace and quiet,"  

Kausar heard Al-amin’s voice. He was talking to her with anger and annoyance.  

She stood without turning to look at him. He started walking slowly until he got to where she was standing,  

then he snatched the phone from her hand and said, "Give me the phone."  

Shaking, Kausar said, "Yah Al-amin, what will you do with my phone?"  

From the anger in his voice, Al-amin said, "I’ll break it... wawuya."  

Kausar said, "Don’t, father didn’t buy it for me because he loves me."  

Al-amin was surprised to hear her say that.  

He quickly and hurriedly snatched the phone and ran to the upstairs room.  

Before she could even reach the gate, she heard a voice from inside saying,  

"Dad, please open the gate for me, I swear I’ll bring Umma’s medicine and all the food you need."  

Al-amin was about to speak when the gatekeeper opened the gate.  

Kausar came out, and Al-amin went to the gatekeeper angrily and said,  

"Why did you let her go? Don’t you know you’re not supposed to let her out of the school gate to go anywhere?"  

Inside, the gatekeeper opened the gate for her, and the gatekeeper said,  

"Forgive me, sir, by Allah, it just happened."  

Al-amin left, thinking Kausar wouldn’t agree.  

So he went back inside angrily. In a hurry, he passed by Umma’s side.  

He greeted her and saw signs that she was inside.  

At that time, Ummi was lying in her room. Kausar had just left when she heard Al-amin’s voice  

greeting from inside...!
