Juyawa turned and hurried away, thinking his mother was upset and that was why she left in anger. He called "Hajiya Zulaihat" but she was crying and no one answered.
Juyawa went to her husband and said, "That's it, Alh. Badam, the way you said it. Yes, by Allah's will we will manage it. With Allah's help we will raise it. She took the pot and was washing it to fix where the pot broke. The pot was for cooking food. Siddiq'a came in crying, carrying the broken pieces. Nabila also took the pot pieces and they fixed it for their mother. Then they gave each other a bath. That night she went up to her bedroom.
Alh. Isham stood there staring at her. He was angry. They greeted him but he pretended not to see them. "I'll be back," he said and left the house.
Even when Siddiq'a and the others went into her bedroom, they didn't see anything. The sign of "soul pain" was still on her. She was close to them. They were about to start talking when she stopped them and said, "Get up and pray, may it be a blessing. The time has come, let's start our night prayers."
So they left the room and went to do their own thing. After praying they came back.
In the bedroom she taught them Islamic studies. After they finished, they continued with "Dafira". Since the time they came in, they hadn't seen the sign of "soul pain" on their mother. They acted as if nothing had happened.
While they were in the middle of it, Nabil came in. His face was gloomy because of what his mother had done to his mother.
"Mama, good evening."
"Welcome son, how are you? Are you well?" Nabil asked.
"I'm fine, Mom." he answered.
"Welcome bro." "Yes," she replied. The girls got up and left, because they don't stay where their brothers are talking with their mother.
Then Hajiya Zulaihat looked at her son and said sadly, "Why did you do that, that you raised your hand on your mother, Nabil? Shame on you! Are you not aware that whatever it is, she is still your mother?"
"Please forgive me, Mama. I couldn't bear the way she was provoking me in the house. And you are letting her do whatever she sees fit. If you had stopped her that day at the market, she wouldn't have gotten used to it. Now you are stopping me and you act as if it's nothing. If we keep quiet in the house, they will say we are dead."
"So Nabil, what is wrong with you? In the problem between me and my husband that you came to meet us in. Whatever Aidan did, he did it. Forgiveness has the power to overcome everything. You did it because you lack the courage to help in that matter. Nabil, not knowing the ruling of someone who insults their parents, in religion the punishment for someone who disrespects their parents—all of them—do you know that the Prophet of Allah (S.A.W) said: 'Obey Allah and His Messenger, obey your parents.'
Tomorrow is the Day of Judgment. Do you want us to meet on the Day when Allah and His Messenger will ask us?"
Amidst crying, she started talking to him like this: "I swear to Allah, she is my mother. I apologize. I made a mistake. My heart couldn't bear the provocation that my father was doing to her. But I won't do it again, by Allah's will. And I am going now."
