*"Peace, my daughter, how was school?"*
*"Alhamdulillah."*
Hakima, seeking to hear bad news, said, *"And how is the man of the house?"*
Labiba replied, *"He is fine, thank God."*
Hakima let out a scoff and said, *"You foolish girl, you secretive one, come here and tell me the truth."* The marabout had confirmed to her that there was neither Haidar nor any return. The secret they did for him would make him stay, he would not return from his journey.
Labiba, seeing how Hakima was treating her, was afraid. She didn’t know the evil nature of the wife and the evil intention she had toward her life.
She just kept answering her until she got fed up and decided never to come back home. Because when she went home, she couldn’t find the peace of mind and rest she saw in Labiba. It hurt her a lot.
She was convinced that Haidar would not come back, but she didn’t know what was making the girl keep murmuring. Rest had settled on her in a way that wasn’t normal. Then on the second day, the marabout did another work again. She didn’t agree with that work.
She picked up her phone and called her friend Lantana without even greeting her. She said, *"Me, I think this work they did on my husband’s daughter didn’t work. Even though he hasn’t come back, until now there’s no sign of distress. Instead she’s sitting in peace and peace of mind."* She murmured, *"The thing you told me to go meet the marabout and do, this work of making him disappear from the town — then I’ll do secret work and he’ll lose his mind and become like a madman among people."*
From the other side Lantana said, *"We’re done, send the money and I’ll go to him."*
They stayed on the call for a long time before hanging up. Hakima was laughing bitterly and said, *"Labiba, if you’re still alive and happy, you’ll see it in a month."*
*From the day they met, she kept trying to greet Dr. Haroon or talk to him, but he didn’t care.* He would just answer briefly and leave.
She didn’t understand what that meant. She knew they hadn’t had a fight. He told her at the time of the quarrel and she apologized. There was nothing. She was his student and he shouldn’t have treated her like that. She felt like he had done her a very big wrong.
*It was eating her up inside.* She kept enduring until she said she couldn’t endure anymore. She would meet him at his office because she was tired of carrying herself while he acted like she had deceived him at that time.
